The work of our organisation requires a board-level structure consisting of 7 members and 3 advisors.

Board Members

Christine Staple-Ebanks

Author, Speaker, Founder and President of the Nathan Ebanks Foundation

Mrs. Staple-Ebanks’ son, Nathan, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy in 2005, which sparked her entry into advocacy for the development and inclusion of children with special needs and disabilities in Jamaica. With more than 18 years’ experience organizing parenting, educational and special needs workshops, she works to build out support and has also worked on policies to promote the agenda of the NEF. Since founding the NEF, Christine has become one of the leading voices in the disability and inclusion movement in Jamaica.  She is the author of “Raising Nathan: Every Life has Story”, published in October 2015, and serves as a tool of inspiration for change. Christine is also on the Board of Directors of Nathan Ebanks Children Advocacy Group Incorporated and has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2007.

 

Robert Kingsley Ebanks

Founder

Mr. Ebanks utilizes his 14+ years in corporate finance and strategic business experience to push the NEF agenda forward. He is also on the Board of Directors of Nathan Ebanks Children Advocacy Group Incorporated and has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2007.

 

Dr Kay-Ann Bookall, MD

Private family practitioner

Dr. Bookall has volunteered with the NEF since 2014, has been recognized. She has been awarded numerous medical awards, and is a fighter for social justice in Jamaica. She is also the Founder of “Exhibit Hope,” a conglomerate of various visual artists whose purpose is to raise funds and awareness for children with disabilities. Dr. Bookall has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2016.

 

Yvonne O. Coke

Author, and former corporate administrator 

Ms. Coke is a retired administrator, speaker and the author of several books including “Perspectives from the Jamaican MAP: Motto, Anthem and Pledge. She is the founder of Hands Across Jamaica for Righteousness (HANDS) and has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2016.

 

Sasha Amoy Anna-Kim Hill 

Parish Manager at the Registrar General’s Department

Ms. Hill has a child diagnosed with developmental disabilities, which  motivated her to become active in the advocacy community, particularly with the NEF. Sasha has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2016.

 

Karaine Holness

Social and Business entrepreneur and owner of Hair’s Kay Beauty Salon

Mrs. Smith-Holness is one of the founding members of the Jamaican-American Connection, and has served as President since 2014. In addition, she is also on the Board of Directors of Nathan Ebanks Children Advocacy Group Incorporated and has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2011.

 

Simone Sobers

Management Accountant at the St Bernard’s School

Ms. Sobers has contributed to the growth of the NEF, and in her capacity as Board member, established the partnership between the NEF and the Jamaican-American Connection of Connecticut. She is also on the Board of Directors of Nathan Ebanks Children Advocacy Group Incorporated and has been a member of the NEF Board of Directors since 2012.
