The Nathan Ebanks Foundation® (The NEF) is a registered Jamaican non-profit organization that works for the inclusion, participation and empowerment of children with disabilities and special education in Jamaica.
The foundation is committed to ensuring that all children with disabilities and special needs in Jamaica receive equal access, necessary resources, and the opportunity to realize their full potential.
The NEF was founded in 2007 by two parents in honour of their son Nathan, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of nine months.
Its programmes include advocacy, public education, capacity development, and rehabilitation support to parents, caregivers, policy-makers and others, to help address the problems faced by children with disabilities, and to help to improve the level of daily care and education for children.
With offices in Kingston, Jamaica, the NEF carries out its work through a team of local and international volunteers. The NEF is a registered Non-Governmental Organization and is licensed with the (Jamaica) Department of Co-operatives & Friendly Societies.
